1956 Wyandotte, No.208 Hook and Ladder Fire Truck in Original Box

1956 Wyandotte, No.208 Hook and Ladder Fire Truck in Original Box

Fantastic, all lithographed pressed steel Hook and Ladder Fire Truck by Wyandotte complete with original box. Manufactured only one year prior to the company's bankruptcy.

Huge nearly 2 ft. long vehicle features Ford style cab, a mechanical crank operated ladder, and solid rubber tires with deep treads. Cherry red throughout (of course) with lots of bright litho details on both sides. The cab and trailer are held together with a locking hex nut and are not detachable (although they probably could be). The front grille and bumper assembly are separately tabbed to the cab. The ladder can be raised and lowered using the attached manual hand crank.

This model number 208 was manufactured without any accessories and so it is complete. The identical truck produced as model number 1021 contained many accessories. The box for the truck below was printed with No.208 on the endflaps. In this way you can tell that the toy is complete without anything missing.

The box is illustrated with two similar drawings which show the truck driving in the desert (burning cactus?). The name of the toy and manufacturer name also appear on the main panels. Endflaps also include manufacturer address.

Size: 22½" x 4¼" x 4".
